Tri-Wall produces a specific range of packaging, Safe Pak, which is UN certified for the secure transport of dangerous or hazardous goods around the world. Safe Pak comes in a wide variety of sizes and different capacities to fit your needs. Alternatively Tri-Wall offers a completely bespoke Design and Testing service for UN Packaging.
Unlike other standard ranges of UN packaging, Tri-Wall has tested the largest variety of approved inners resulting in the ultimate range of 4G and 4GV certified packaging. 4G shows that the container is a fibreboard box, while 4GV indicates that the container is a fibreboard box tested for any inner and article classified as ‘Special Combination Packaging’.
4GV rated packs have been over-tested to fit any inner packaging or article, whereas under the 4G licence the inners must be of a specified design and tested within the pack. These requirements come from the UN Recommendations of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods which from the basis of the regulations for the four key types of transport: Air (IATA), Sea (IMDG Code), Rail (RID) and Road (ADR*International and CDGCPL II **UK).
Dangerous goods have to be assigned to the relevant packing group depending on how dangerous they are.
Our Safe Pak range of pack sizes have been developed to ship hazardous substances of packaging groups I, II and III – excluding goods in class 1 (explosives) and class 7 (radioactives).
