Tri-Wall Europe Announces Acquisition

We are delighted to announce that Tri-Wall Europe Limited has acquired 51% of Rosewood Packaging Group.

Durable Packaging

In addition to supplying expendable packaging, Tri-Wall manufacture and supply many types of Durable / returnable packaging. Listed below are the main materials we use in durable packaging to support our customers’ needs.

Outer Boxes

There are three main types of plastic material available for outer boxes.

  • Rigid Injection-Moulded – Often used in the Automotive industry for Closed-Loop supply chains and lineside supply. Typically these are stackable and come in standard dimensions, both Pallet sized and hand size. Tooling for alternate sizes is very costly, however it is possible to stretch sizes by cutting and welding if required.
  • EPP (Extruded Poly Propylene) – The properties of EPP mean that it can be easily cut to complicated shapes to make bespoke box sizes. Fixtures can be included to aid stacking and lifting. It is resistant to chemicals including most acids and repels moisture. EPP is readily recyclable and can be used multiple times without a reduction in performance.
  • EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) – Can be moulded to bespoke sizes with integral moulded shapes to hold the contents. These are very lightweight, and provide thermal insulation properties. Contrary to belief, EPS can be recycled.

Internal Dunnage / Fittings

For Internal Dunnage / Fittings Tri-Wall can supply the following options

  • EPP (Extruded Poly Propylene) – The properties of EPP can be cut into complicated shapes for internal dunnage. It can be coated in fabric for scratch resistance on A Surfaces and Anti Static (ESD) material for electronic products. It is resistant to chemicals including most acids and repels moisture. EPP is readily recyclable and can be used multiple times without a reduction in performance.
  • EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) – EPS can be moulded or cut into shapes for dunnage. EPS offers very good shock resistance and good surface protection for sensitive products. Contrary to belief, EPS can be recycled.
  • Polyethylene – Cross-linked and non-cross-linked cell polythene can be cut shaped in many ways to create highly protective solutions for valuable or sensitive products. Polythene comes in a wide variety of densities and colours and can even be produced in an ESD form. The type of polythene can be chosen for the particular application.

Fabric and Steel

Fabric – Fabric dunnage can be manufactured in many ways, in a variety of materials, to suit needs of the customer. As the dunnage is flexible it will easily improve pack density and ergonomics by nesting complicated parts more easily. Fabric can be used in combination with various rigid materials to provide specific packaging solutions. The versatility of fabric allows different parts to be packed in the same configuration and allows for revisions in design of the component without changes in the dunnage. Fabric can be fixed to the outer container in a flexible manner allowing for removal to clean the container and the end of a programme.

Fabric Dunnage is ideal for packing visible (A Surface) car parts, painted, chromed and upholstered components.

Steel racks – Steel racks are primarily used for lineside supply in manufacturing and in very local closed-loop logistics cycles. Tri-Wall can manufacture and supply any size of rack to your specification or provide a design services to design a bespoke rack for your needs. Steel racks can be combined with fabric, corrugated cardboard or plastic dunnage to enhance the supply chain.
